Gentlemen, please remove your shirts. We need to talk about bodies.

If you've been following this blog or any of the free ones (or the fashion ones for that matter,) by now you should have a decent skin, good hair and a pretty wearable and versatile wardrobe.

If you've poked around a little, you will know that I work in-world as a dancer and some of the things that are required for that line of work are a good sense of humor, the ability to type a coherent emote fast, and a really good body. Different clubs have different aesthetics but nearly all of them require dancers (male or female) to have better than newbie skins and hair, and usually a few dances in their pocket. But the body is first and good dancers who love their work (and I do ~grins~) frequently drop a lot of Lindens to get a look that makes them stand out on stage. But some of us....we are always looking for a way to improve our overall look without ending up in the poor house.

Sometimes you find yourself needing a little more...and I'm not just talking about the dangly bits. I am going to talk about them (Eliza, avert your eyes) but only in passing. If you were like me, one of the first things you did when you finally figured a few things out was went hunting for the missing bits.

But the other part that might be missing is...body hair. Some skins come with them, or at least the hints of them. Most good skins have a range of facial hair gradients, but the vast majority of them have only the hint at places guys usually have hair.

Have no fear. Your friendly content creators are a creative bunch, and they have you covered, literally. the body hair shop - vdbv designs even has a free set of chest and leg hair for you to try. It's light hair, and comes in an undershirt and underwear layer. The shop itself has far more, in sets, upper body, lower body or singles for just legs and arms, in varying densities.

The same is true of those dangly bits. Some skins will provide you with all the equipment you need in a *cough* resting state. If you just like walking around (in the privacy of your own home please) nude, or like me, you strip, you're going to need to find something with a little more realism than most freebie offerings. I have as yet to find a good free scripted boy part, but there are some that won't break the bank should you have need. For a good basic wearable, tintable bit of anatomy, Midnight Lotus offers one for free. (Bonus: it won't talk to you -- or anyone else.) and yeah, no, no pictures. This is a PG blog.

So, now that you've got the body looking pretty good, it's always fun to take the mods a little further -- if you want to beef up, use your sliders. But if you want to art up, find some good tattoos.

There are a lot of tattoo designers out there -- I can't cover them all and not all of them offer freebies, but if you are ready to move past the more common solid black tribal tattoos that come standard with your avatar library, let me point out a few.

First up is the Written on the Body Tattoo from A:S:S. This was a freebie from the subscribo and from the MM board and it keeps popping in and out and may yet turn up free again -- so keep an eye out for it. It's based on the book/movie "Pillow Book" and is extremely cool.

Next is a not-technically-free tattoo from SD Wears -- but you can get it for free. See, in the gift bag on the counter of the main store is a gift card with a t-shirt; Take out the gift card and wear it - the tattoo itself is $25L, so in one sweep, you've got a shirt and a very cool Chinese character back tattoo.

And finally, a set of them, free from ::Maschienenwerk:: (which you should be checking regularly anyway.) I love the variety of symbols in these -- just as if you'd been acquiring tattoos for years, one after another.

The colors are nice too, muted but not entirely faded -- all free. After you grab those, head up to the third floor and pick up the new Zeitzone Jeans & Benc Shirt set -- you've worked hard. You deserve to be able to kick back in some comfy jeans and a softly wrinkled t-shirt.

And now that you've grown a little chest hair, adjusted your *cough* junk, and acquired some nice ink, put on some clean clothes....
