Yesterday marked our first month in the blogging community, and I really want to mark the occasion.
We now get approximately 300 readers on days where we don't update, and over 500 on the days that we do! That's pretty impressive I think. My only problem with this is that I don't believe we're reaching our target audience.
Soooo, with that said, I'm putting my money where my mouth is and offering 1000L to the person who comes up with the best idea for us to reach new players. *Keep in mind that we're trying to reach newbs who may not know anything about blogs yet.
Sitting at an infohub and randomly dropping our address on people doesn't count. We do that already, and it's not that effective.
We will try every idea within reason, and that doesn't cost a lot of money. What we mean by that is that we can't afford to spend any more money than the prize money set aside for this contest. We're not making a profit here. The most effective will receive 1000L in world. Second place gets a 500L gift card to a shop of their choice which sells gift cards.

Definitely post about the blog in the SL Universe forums. SLU is massive, and reaches a huge audience, and a big chunk of the readers of my blog come from there.
1. set up a kiosk somewhere in world with a few hand-picked-for-awesomeness gifts provided by your fav friendsie designers. Blog about it and ask everyone to tell all their friends, great freebies for guys aren't common. Be sure to offer those designers the opportunity to advertise a bit on the packaging.
2. Throw a big grand opening party for the in world area, complete with some great djing. Make great signs for those fav friendsie designers to hang out, and pass them as invites to your friends, their friends....
3. Invite an occasional guest blog post from some beloved blog such as SL frestyle. For the open of your new kiosk, have them drag in some man-on-the-street AV and dress them fit to kill.
4. If you are going to hold a constest via comments you might want to mention please leave an ID so we can find you to give you the prize! -*giggles*-

BTW, Eliza was telling me about your blog...I had NO freaking idea that you existed. Sorry about the name similarity. BUT, it could be beneficial to both of us I think, especially since Eliza refuses to even try to do a tutorial and I really am BAD at it. Your AO tutorial is very detailed and I'd like to link directly to it when we go to our new layout if that's ok.
@Gertie - Just read your blog! Love your sense of humor : ) You should really post more often...just a few sentences would do. I know I could use a good laugh any time!!!

I think the best way is to be present at freebie areas for newbies like Free Dove. You could give away a free item and put a notecard with it refering to your blog.
If the newbies don't come to you, you have to come to the newbies!
Also, if you haven't already, a group would be nice as well. It reminds people in SL when updates have happened on your blog.

Congrats on 1 month anniversary. Yes definitely get a kiosk or sign which gives your website when clicked and see if you can place it at infohubs and freebie store, (something i have been meaning to do for a while).
I'll put one at at our new freebie place if you decide to do this :)

i actually found out about this blog through a friend who saw it on another freebie blog. i reckon its mostly ladies who find out about these freebie stuff; so if you can get friends to mention this site on other freebie blogs. barter internet space ads in this blogs for in world sl prims (just 1 prim) with shops to feature a link to your blog in their store.
Perhaps a group would be the best bet to get the name out. If newer people see a tag that says "Free Finds For Men." They can join the group and find out more info about this blog.
