Hi everyone! This is a long post but I hope you find what I have gathered for you to enhance your inventory. Reid here at Lloyd, home of the Starlust Motel, sitting on my favorite poseball and getting ready to make a fool out of myself. The reason for the excursion today is that Thimbles has marked down ALL of their black and/or orange clothes for 5 L until Halloween (or so) according to the notice I received. The sale is HUGE for women but don't let the throngs intimidate you...at least they paid no attention to me, even when I was down to my drawers.
The creators over at Thimbles, Apatia Hammerer and Melotonin Hax, seem to have a great interest in PLAID as well as really funny names for their clothes...both which I REALLY LIKE. The orange plaid shirt I am showing in the first picture is called "Daddy's Car Broke Down Plaid".
The shirt above is from their Domestic Diva collection, perfect for rustling up some serious grub at the camp and is called "Hank Started a Dryer Fire". The textures used in these shirts is very rich. I cannot believe our luck to get them for 5 L each.
The one above is called "Dr. Duane, Country Vet Plaid". These shirts come with several layers as well as a tucked and untucked version. They also have prim collars and the seams matched. Not sure if you or someone you know has ever tried to get seams to line up but it's no easy task, which only leads me to admire their work further.
Also at Thimbles are some unisex "Summer Shorts" which look an awful lot like men's underwear. If you spend any amount of time around The Starlust, you will hear many references to pants and panties, so wear them out and wear them proud! I paired my man-shorts with the weekly dollarbie from *K2* that happened to be a unisex skully Henley shirt. Kiki Cunningham, K2 creator, sets out a mystery dollarbie every Friday, sometimes specifically for women, but other times not. The thing about a mystery is you just don;t know! For you I'm willing to don my man-shorts and take a chance.
Last item but a Do Not Miss while at the Starlust is Schadenfreude, home of my favorite poseball (try it) and a myriad of incredible items created by the amazing Allegory Malaprop. On the steps are 2 trick or treat pumpkins. I was lucky enough to pick up 2 flying brooms (they really work), and some candy-corn fangs. If you go down the hole in one of the feet (you will know what I'm talking about when you go there) there is the most amazing and beautiful Halloween bucket available for 1 L in the bat room. I collect antique Halloween items in real life, so I am absolutely in love with this object. You can carry it if you wish or you can set it out at your house. Even the detail on the treats inside is exquisite. One of the things that I have to do from time to time is stop and appreciate the sheer creativity and generosity of so many people on SL. The Starlust on Lloyd as well as its siblings, Floyd, Dogtown (I really like Dogtown) and Horst von Starlustinberg State Penitentiary is one of those places you have to see... at least once in your life. Go. Bye.
